Football: DOSAD Lead Table At Anambra Independent League Midseason

DOSAD FA, Enugu-Ukwu are leading the pack with 21 points from seven wins and one draw from eight matches as Anambra Independent Football League (AIFL) Season 5 has gone on mid season break.
GP World FA, Nnewi are in the second position with 18 points after securing five wins, three draws and one loss from nine games during the nine weeks of entertaining but competitive first half of AIFL season 5.
AIFL founded in 2017 is an private sector driven football league for amateur clubs in in Anambra under the chairmanship of Rev. Fr Coach Obinna Dike.

A Statement issued by Fr Dike and Godsent Eriobu the Secretary of the League on Sunday said hostilities would resume on April 9 with well 10 fixtures.

It said the break would also give club sides taking part in ‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 opportunity to prepare for the finals which has been slayed for between March 29 and April 3, while wishing them successful outing.
“The League management said it would whole a council meeting on March 17 at her secretariat Fides Complex, Okpuno, Awka where issues around the league including officiating would be addressed.

“With the Week 9 matches played on March 5, AIFL has come to the end of the first stanza of her season and therefore its mid season /Easter break till April 8.

“The AIFL resumes from the break on April 9, with Week 10 fixtures, AIFL wishes her teams participating in the My Anambra Super 8 Football Tournament success in the competition.
“We will have Council meeting on March 17 and all teams must have representatives in the meeting as important decisions will be ruled on,” it stated.

Bubendorf FC and Ozalla FC are third and fourth with 18 and 17 points respectively after nine matches each while Mekon FC and Ogene FC occupied the fifth and sixth position with 11points and 10 points from eight and nine games respectively.
Other teams on the table were Ranges FC, nine points; Cardinal Arinze FC, seven points; Obeledu FC, five points and World FA, points from nine matches by each of the teams.
Chinaza Okeke of DOSAD is leading the scorers’ chart with 11 goals followed by Odinaka Agina of GP World with five goals.
.Chibuike Uduezue of Bubendorf, Somadina Okafor of Mekon and Ugochukwu Agugweogu share the third position with four goals each.
